Human-Made Content Certification Platform VerifiedHuman™ Marks Three Years, Joins C2PA Coalition
Hundreds of creators across 25+ countries now carry the mark. C2PA membership positions the platform alongside major players in content authenticity.
UNITED STATES — APRIL 2026 — Three years after launching the first certification standard for human-made creative work, VerifiedHuman™ has grown from a single founder's conviction into a global community of creators spanning six continents. With members in more than 25 countries — writers, visual artists, musicians, voice actors, educators, and organizations — the platform has established itself as the trust-based certification layer in an ecosystem increasingly focused on distinguishing human creativity from AI-generated content.
In January 2026, VerifiedHuman™ became a Contributor Member of the Coalition for Content Provenance and Authenticity (C2PA), the industry coalition developing open technical standards for content provenance. Members include Adobe, Microsoft, Google, Intel, and the BBC.
"C2PA tracks where content came from. Laws create consequences when someone's work is stolen," said founder Micah Voraritskul. "We do something neither of those can do — we give audiences a reason to *choose* human. That's a different problem, and it's ours."
A Distinct Layer in the Content Authenticity Space
VerifiedHuman™ fills a role that neither legislation nor provenance technology addresses. Legislation such as Tennessee's ELVIS Act and California's AB-2602 creates legal recourse after harm occurs. Provenance technology like C2PA authenticates where the content came from and how it was made. VerifiedHuman™ creates a market signal — a reason for audiences to choose human-made work when that's what they value.
"Think of it like Fair Trade coffee," Voraritskul said. "That label doesn't claim the beans taste better. It says: if ethical sourcing matters to you, here's how you find it. The buyer already cares. The label gives them a way to act on it. We work the same way for human creativity."
Rather than scanning content with detection algorithms, the platform certifies human creators who commit to transparent, field-specific standards for their work. The platform's five-level Human-AI Collaborative Spectrum (VH1–VH5) provides a framework for how creators use AI in their process, with certification requiring creators to lead the creative work—not simply edit machine output.
From Early Arrival to Growing Movement
VerifiedHuman™ launched in April 2023 — eighteen months before the mainstream conversation about AI-human content differentiation took hold. A Nashville musician told Voraritskul at the time: "You're like a guy who shows up six hours early to a huge party. There's no one there yet."
The party has started. Since launch, the platform has certified hundreds of creators across 25+ countries on six continents, published "Human Is the New Vinyl" (2024) as the intellectual and philosophical foundation for the certification model, earned C2PA Contributor Member status, and developed field-specific standards for seven creative categories.
